コンパクトな本格派オフローダーとして高い人気を誇るスズキ「ジムニー」。初代モデルが登場したのは、およそ半世紀前となる1970年のこと。日本車の場合、4年程度でフルモデルチェンジが行なわれるのが一般的だが、2代目ジムニーがデビューしたのは1981年。そして3代目は大きく飛んで1998年と、10年を超える長いスパンで代替わりしてきた。
