大相撲の名古屋場所（愛知・ドルフィンズアリーナ）に出場していた横綱・白鵬（３３＝宮城野部屋）が、４日目から休場することになった。１１日に病院で診察を受け、「右膝蓋腱損傷、右頸骨結節剥離骨折の疑いで２週間の安静を要する」との診断書を相撲協会に提出した。
