防衛省は３０日、陸上配備型迎撃ミサイルシステム「イージス・アショア」のレーダーに、米ロッキード・マーチンの「ＳＳＲ」を選定したと発表した。土地の造成費や３０年間の維持費、ミサイルの取得費なども含めると、イージス・アショアの運用経費は総額で５０００億円を超える見通し。配備時期は当初予定の２０２３年度から遅れる可能性がある。
