2017の初めにGoogleマップに 現在地を共有する機能が追加された。ユーザーはGoogleマップ上で近くにいる親しい友達や家族に自分の現在地を教えることができるようになった。この機能にちょっとした、しかし重要な情報が追加された。スマートフォンのバッテリー充電状態だ。こういう具合だ。
