安倍晋三首相は平和記念式典の後、広島市内のホテルであった被爆者７団体の代表らが参加する「要望を聞く会」に出席した。被爆者側からは、被爆国として核兵器禁止条約への署名・批准を求める声が相次いだが、安倍首相は「条約とは考え方、アプローチを異にしている。参加しない考えに変わりない」と不参加を明言した。
