今秋ドラフト１位候補、パナソニック・吉川峻平投手（２３）が来年から米大リーグに挑戦することが１５日、分かった。ダイヤモンドバックスなどが獲得に意欲的であるとみられる。ドラフト１位候補選手が日本球界を経ずに直接、大リーグに挑戦するのは極めて異例。実現すれば、０８年の田沢純一投手（３２）＝現エンゼルス＝以来２人目となる。
