我が国としては、国連サミットでの決議に基づく持続可能な開発目標（ＳＤＧｓ）に取り組む必要があり、その一環として低炭素社会を実現することが重要だ。 五輪との関係でいえば、１９６４年の東京五輪では新幹線や高速道路が日本の技術の象徴として世界に発信され、レガシー（遺産）となった。
