沖縄県の翁長雄志知事が８日に死去する前に、自身の後継の知事候補として、地元小売り・建設大手「金秀グループ」会長の呉屋守将氏（６９）と、自由党の玉城デニー幹事長（５８）＝衆院沖縄３区＝の２氏を指名していたことが１８日、関係者の話で分かった。音声として残していた。これまでに両氏とも固辞する意向を示した。
