大濠公園（福岡市中央区）で開かれてきた夏恒例の「西日本大濠花火大会」について、主催する西日本新聞社は１４日、「安全対策の限界」などを理由に来年以降実施しないと発表した。同日の西日本新聞朝刊に柴田建哉社長名で社告「終了のごあいさつ」を掲載した。
