Wi-Fi AllianceはIEEE 802.11axに対応する製品の認証プログラムの名称を「Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6」とし、2019年より開始することを発表した。スマートフォンなどでWi-Fi接続時に表示されるアイコンも数字入りのものへ変更されるという。
