海上自衛隊が検討を進める空母保有計画の全容が明らかになった。ヘリコプター搭載護衛艦「いずも」型をほぼ原型のまま活用し、垂直離着陸戦闘機「F35B」を搭載する。任務に応じて、F35Bと対潜水艦（対潜）ヘリコプター「SH60」を積み替え、1隻で「空母」と対潜水艦戦が主目的の「護衛艦」という2つの機能を併せ持つ多用途艦となる。政府はこれまで「攻撃型空母は保有できない」との見解
