ガートナーは「日本におけるテクノロジのハイプサイクル：2018年」を発表した。ハイプサイクルとは新技術の成熟化の過程を表した図。AI（人工知能）やブロックチェーンに対する期待は「過剰な期待」のピーク期から幻滅期に移行し、ビッグデータは安定期に達する前に陳腐化するとした。
