カナダは１７日、嗜好品としてのマリフアナ（大麻）の所持・使用を合法化した。先進国としては初めてとなる。ただ連邦政府のほか多くの州政府は慎重な姿勢をとっており、大麻入り食品などの解禁は１年先としたほか、大麻の供給体制も厳格に管理。カナダ最大の都市トロントのほか、バンクーバーでは大麻小売店はまだ開店していない。
