【与那国】議長選出が難航していた与那国町議会は３１日午前、９９回目の議長選を行い、新議長に与党の前西原武三氏（６４）を選出した。過半数を維持したい与野党双方が議長職を押しつけ合って１カ月余り。与党が折れる形で全会一致で決着した。全国メディアも注目する異常事態に県内外から批判も相次いでいた。
