女優の加藤貴子（４８）が１３日、ブログを更新し、父親ががんになった時の総合病院の外科医の対応「ひどさ」について記した。医師は「手の施しようがないステージです。もって３か月です。退院して自宅療養をおすすめします」と「めんどくさそうに」宣告。セカンドオピニオンを考えて検査結果を渡して欲しいとの要求にも「渡せない」と拒否したという。父は病院を変わり、１年半を生きたとしている。
