Alphabet傘下の医療企業Verily Life Sciencesが、2014年に立ち上げた糖尿病患者のための血糖値測定コンタクトレンズの開発を中止した。わずかな涙液から正確な血糖値を測定するのは困難という結論に達した。今後は白内障や老眼のためのスマートレンズの開発にフォーカスする。
